Thabiti Anyabwile sees a connection between the health of our local church and our own spiritual health, and argues that the importance of a local church is so great that we cannot mature in Christ independent of one. Not just a building, one’s local church is a covenant community of people mutually committed to each other in Christ. By understanding its value and place in our lives, our own souls will benefit as will the greater community of which we are a part.
