It is of primary importance that we answer Jesus’ question: “Who do you say that I am?” For our answers dictates whether we live with eyes opened to who Christ is, or blinded by our feeble understandings. Kevin DeYoung emphasizes Jesus as the Christ, for if He had just been a great man His death would not have mattered. Our focus is to be drawn away from the storms that the waters of life present to us and turn our gaze instead to the one who is in the boat with us: Jesus the Christ.
