The Center of Christian Preaching: Justification by Faith MP3 DOWNLOAD
Item # A2235-06-51
R.C. Sproul
A clear grasp of the doctrine of justification is, and always has been, that upon which the church stands or falls. Yet many today either assume or misunderstand that glorious doctrine. This is a crisis that demands a response.
In this message for pastors, R.C. Sproul outlines the biblical and historical contours of the doctrine of justification. He addresses the main disagreements of the Reformation and some principal ways in which Roman Catholicism departs from biblical faith. Finally, he urges pastors to preach the biblical doctrine of justification boldly, accurately, and faithfully.
Never negotiate about the doctrine of the imputation of the righteousness of Christ, he says. We are not justified by this doctrine itself, by intellectual assent to it, or by the verbal profession of it. We are justified by faith alone, in Christ alone. This doctrine is good news, and the Christian pastor must never stop preaching it.
This was the fourth message delivered at the 2006 Together for the Gospel conference.
