Preaching with the Culture in View MP3 DOWNLOAD

Albert Mohler
There is only one message that is addressed to every culture and that always defies redefinition: the gospel of Jesus Christ.
If a pastor is to communicate that gospel clearly, however, he must understand and engage his own culture. In this message, Albert Mohler helps pastors put culture in its place—and find their place within it. Relying on Scripture and drawing from Augustine’s The City of God, Mohler provides a biblical basis for understanding secular culture, and closes with a discussion of modern American culture and how a pastor may articulate the gospel clearly to those in it.
How to engage the world around us? We cannot withdraw, for this would be to deny our commission. Neither can we feel at home, for this would be to deny our identity. Our task is to preach the gospel boldly and clearly to the people in our culture, until that day when every nation and culture worships before the throne of the Lamb.
This was the third message delivered at the 2006 Together for the Gospel conference.
