Carolyn McCulley
Foreword by Wayne Grudem
What defines your worth as a woman? Is it your beauty or your sexual appeal? Is it found in your professional accomplishments or your children’s achievements? Is it based upon how well you multi-task to pull off the superwoman act?
More importantly, do you know why you believe this?
In Radical Womanhood, Carolyn McCulley explores what our culture says about womanhood, how we got here, and why the Bible’s definition of femininity is radically liberating.

Description
For the last two centuries, women have challenged the prevailing thinking of what it means to be a man or a woman. Some of their challenges were long overdue; others meant outright rebellion against long-held beliefs; but many of these stories are now lost in the fog of history. You may have accepted our culture’s definition of womanhood, but perhaps you’re not sure how we got here.
Radical Womanhood, the second book from Carolyn McCulley, traces the development of feminism in America and offers a different viewpoint: what it means to be made a woman in the image of God.
If you value your identity as a woman, but have questions about God’s purposes for your femininity, this book will help clear the mist of cultural confusion. You, being made a woman in the image of God, are no after-thought or accident. You have something sacred to reflect in the guts and glory of your femininity.

Reviews
“It’s an excellent read and stirring challenge!” —Mary A. Kassian, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, author of The Feminist Mistake
“Few voices are speaking the truth contained in these pages—but so many need to hear it. Amidst our culture’s radical confusion about womanhood, Carolyn teaches the radical truth of God’s wise and gracious design for women.” —C.J. and Carolyn Mahaney, authors of Living the Cross Centered Life and Feminine Appeal
“This book is the fruit of her journey. Her keen observations and thoughtful analysis explain the seismic shift brought about in our culture by the feminist revolution.” —Nancy Leigh DeMoss, host of Revive Our Hearts radio program, author of Lies Women Believe
“Carolyn was once deeply influenced by feminist thinking, but came to see the bankruptcy of that worldview. She wants you to understand why much of what women learn about what it means to be a woman in today’s culture (whether it is taught in college, read or heard via the media, or assumed in society) leads to a dead end. More importantly, she wants you to know why the Bible’s view of womanhood inspires joy and peace.” —Ligon Duncan, Senior Minister, First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, Mississippi; President, Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals
“Radical Womanhood is a subversive message of a better way for women. With courage, clarity, history and stories that stick, Carolyn delicately dismantles the shrines of feminism with the glories of biblical femininity.” —Dave Harvey, author of When Sinners Say “I Do”
“Carolyn McCulley combines solid research along with engaging personal testimony (her own and that of others) to give a clear picture of feminism’s influence over the past two centuries. Carolyn traces the first, second, and third waves of feminist ideology, and discusses how these ideas have influenced all of us more than we might have ever known. The foundation of this discussion is God’s Word, and Carolyn regularly demonstrates how God’s eternal truth is the answer to feminism’s questions and confusion.” —Bruce and Jodi Ware, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
“This is a book that needs to be read by all women—and by men too!” —Iain Duguid, Professor of Old Testament, Grove City College
